Floatation
Our
state of the art floatation tank is a 25cm deep pool saturated
with an Epsom salt solution. It is ten times more buoyant than
seawater. The solution is automatically heated to skin temperature
making it virtually impossible for the mind to distinguish which
parts of the body are in or out of the water. You achieve the
sensation of floating effortlessly in mid-air. Our tank allows
you to experience the ultimate in sensory deprivation, freeing
yourself completely from the pressures and external stimulation
of urban life.
This
leads to the deep state of relaxation known as the Parasympathetic
Response. This state induces a beneficial drop in heart rate
and blood pressure. Blood vessels also dilate, improving the
delivery of oxygen and nutrients to every part of the body.
Floatation also triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s
natural painkiller, increasing the general feeling of well being.
Medical trials have proved beyond
any doubt that floatation is an invaluable tool in the training
and recovery programmes of athletes and sportsmen as it encourages
tissue and muscle growth, and quickens the removal of lactic acid
which is produced by the muscles during exercise. The body’s
natural healing process is stimulated during floatation making it
an excellent choice after injury. It has been said by some experts
that an hours floatation is equivalent to the rejuvenating effects
of eight hours sleep!
As you can see floatation has many
benefits which can be utilised by everyone regardless of size, shape
or age. This treatment really does have to be experienced to be
believed.
Dry Floatation
Standard
dry float – approximately 25 minutes.
Relax
in our fantastic dry float bed which allows you to experience
the almost weightless state known as passive immersion. This
induces complete relaxation of the joints and muscular system.
The unlimited heat source provides a constant temperature
throughout the treatment aiding the positive effects on the
psyche. In addition dry floatation creates an occlusion pressure,
which significantly increases the skins absorption rate. This
is a perfect treatment to combine with body wraps. Dry float
is a great alternative to wet floatation and can be added
to the following beauty treatments:
Body
Wraps

Back,
neck, shoulder massages
